Privacy policy

This page explains what personal information Lochlytic Inc. collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It follows Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you’re in the UK or EU, see the section near the end.

Who we are

Lochlytic Inc. is an incentive compensation consultancy based in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Our privacy officer is Cameron Ferguson, who is responsible for how we handle personal information. You can reach our privacy officer at contact@lochlytic.com.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message. We also see the country you’re writing from, based on your internet connection. We use it only to help us reply.
  • Booking a call: when you book through Cal.com, the details you enter there (such as your name, email, company and what the call is about) and the time you pick.
  • Spam checks: the contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser and your IP address to tell people from bots.
  • Site analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Server logs: our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and protect the site.

We don’t collect anything else through this site, and we don’t buy personal information from anyone.

How we use it

We use your details to reply to you, to set up and hold calls you’ve booked, and to keep the form free of spam. If we end up working together, we use them to run that work. That’s all. We don’t sell or rent your information, we don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t send marketing email.

Your consent

By sending the form or booking a call, you agree to us using your details as described here. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us. We’ll stop using your details and delete them, unless the law requires us to keep something.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this site and our email. They handle your information for us and only to provide their service:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, spam checks and analytics
  • Resend: delivers form messages to our inbox
  • Google Workspace: our email
  • Cal.com: call booking

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. While it’s there, it’s subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it. We don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

This site doesn’t set any cookies of its own. The spam check and the booking window are provided by Cloudflare and Cal.com, which may use their own cookies or similar technology. See Cal.com’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that don’t lead to work for up to 2 years, then delete them. If we do work together, we keep what we need for that work and for as long as tax, accounting or other legal rules require. Cloudflare keeps its technical logs for a short period that it sets.

How we protect it

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, including restricted access to our accounts and encrypted connections (HTTPS) across this site.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
  • correct anything that’s wrong
  • delete your information

Email contact@lochlytic.com. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If you’re in the UK or EU

If you’re in the United Kingdom or European Union, the UK GDPR or EU GDPR also applies to how we handle your information.

  • Legal basis: we use your details because we have a legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries, and, where it applies, to take steps you’ve asked for before entering into a contract.
  • Transfers: your information is handled in Canada, which the UK and EU recognize as giving adequate protection for commercial data, and by our service providers in the United States under their own transfer safeguards.
  • Extra rights: as well as the rights above, you can object to how we use your information, ask us to limit it, and ask for a copy in a portable format.
  • Complaints: you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
